US-Russia relations and new power struggle
Russia is a serious problem for the U.S. but not an existential one China is.
Moscow is more a disrupter than creator of order(s). Putin is very adept at exploiting the void left by the U.S. hesitation and weariness and the uncertainties of many of its Middle Eastern allies.
It is also beginning to be rewarded materially for its daring but there are also risks and costs. The US established order will probably strike Russia hard for its meddling. Russian economy is stil little more than energy. Putin wants to be accepted as an equal but that looks unlikely. He is playing a weak hand very well but Russia’s demographic and economic limitations will bound to catch up.
