Turkey has serious and genuine complaints about the treatment she receives from her allies. The West takes Ankara for granted and ignores and sometimes even contributes to Turkey’s security problems. Turkey may a) lower, b) condition its participation in the alliance activities, and c) may even try to sabotage them. Best way to start should include telling the our side of the story more effectively. A NATO without Turkey will miss it greatly. But Turkey cannot and need not do without NATO, either.
