Democrats look like they have overplayed their hand with Russiagate. They have put almost all their eggs in that basket and seems lost the impeachment battle, for now. Now that impeachment looks remote they need to update their game and attack Trump through his many weak points. The US is a different place than it was in Watergate days. Polarization of politics and society, fragmentation of the media, Trump’s control of his own base were important factors for him to avoid impeachment. But even that is not a certainty even after the Mueller report.
