Abstract: Before the COVID 19 Trump seemed to have some advantages for the election (economy, incumbency, weak rival, divided Democrats, money etc). But his flawed leadership on the pandemics and the racial inequality crisis put hım 10 points behind Biden. Trump has a strong but limited base which he should enlarge to win. His populism was not intelligent and Real enough. Yet all is not lost. Although it’s increasingly unlikely he could still win if the economy recovers fast, if the BLM overplays it’s hand, if Biden”s limitations could be shown etc.
