The second day’s program included discussions on Central Asia and international actors. İbrahim Mammadov, Research Fellow at QAFSAM, Akmaljon Abdullayev, the Academy’s 2005 graduate and Ph.D. candidate at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and Farrukh Khakimov, Head of Department at the Development Strategy Center, explored different perspectives on the OSCE Human Dimension, the dynamics of regional development and trilateral platforms in the context of increasing Central Asia-EU trade. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Fabio Indeo, researcher at the University of Siena.
As part of the conference, a roundtable discussion was held on “The OSCE and the EU in the reshaped geopolitical scenario of Central Asia”. Dr. Fabio Indeo and Colin McCullough, Senior Planning and Co-ordination Officer at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, discussed co-operation between international organizations, with a special focus on the role of the OSCE and the EU in Central Asia and the current geopolitical developments in the region.
